Hey everyone - Nathan posted the following on the message board on the RC website, so I thought I'd share: =)Jammin Java in DC is confirmed for October 22nd at 9:30. We'll post it soon. We're working on Philadelphia, and Boston. Trying to make Chicago happen too.

I was really bored this morning and playing around with icons. So I made a Rockwell Church one. It's a bit rough, but it makes me happy. You are welcome to take it if you want, but please credit me in the keywords. :-)

Hey. I'm Brian, and I'm a rare but very dedicated Rockwell Church fan living in California. I'd hoped to make a more gracious entry into this community--perhaps telling the story of how I heard of Rockwell Church (again, I'm in California; RC obscure here at best). Alas, my continuing troubles force me to ask the question that's been frustrating me for some time: am I the only person having trouble with the rockwellchurch.org server? I haven't been able to log on for about four months. No server means no shows, and no shows means an unhappy Brian.
I'll try to post the story of how I became a fan sometime. It really is a pretty interesting story, I think.

Just joined, wanted to say hi. I went to the last Rockwell Church show at The Point July 12, which was awesome as always. I got Antidote then, and it's been monopolizing my CD player since. I'm definitely going to be at the October show!
I also wanted to ask, has anyone heard of Christopher Jak? He seems like the kind of artist who Rockwell Church fans might like, another one to add to the list. Hasn't gotten much publicity, as far as I can tell. I just found out about him today, and Amazon
has some free mp3 downloads. So that's been my music for the day. Current Mood: cheerful

My copy of Antidote finally came today. I had heard some of the songs live, but they sound very different on the CD. IT is a fantastic album and I have already listened to it several times while doing things around the house. I think "Lullaby" is one of the most beautiful songs they have recorded, and that is saying a lot in my opinion. I love the references to pop culture (the Kool Aid Man and the Star Wards movies) as well as the historical and literary references (the mention of the Magna Carta in "How the West Was Won" is my favorite --I'm a medievalist...). The harmonies on "Chemical" and "Ohio in a Bucket" are absolutely lovely. And I think "Lindsay Song" is great, but it is partly due to the fact that I don't get to see my name in man songs!
I'd be very interested to hear what everyone else thinks of the record...

I have had an LJ account for several months now, but only recently started exploring communities. I'm so glad to see there is a community for Rockwell Church! I'm unfortunately still waiting for my copy of the new CD to arrive in the mail, but I heard their shows in Cambridge online and think the new songs are fabulous...
Thanks for starting this journal!

Hi, I have a suggestion.  I found this journal through the rockwellchurch.org webpage, but there are people on livejournal who are interested in RC too.  Add "Rockwell Church" to the journal's list of interests so that people can find it through a search.  You can also find other RC fans on here using that search too.

to tape or not to tape
my uncle left his video camera here... ooooh! i might have to steal it and video tape the jamin java show to merge with sam's minidisc recording... i wish i had known it was here for the point shows so i could have snuck it in and set up in the back real stealth-like... of course i'll have to find someone who can convert it it to MPEG but i'm sure that can be done what with the computer age... took me long enough
I meant to join this thing on day one and i got a little behind. anyhoo, yay! people are using the board and there are no annoying pop up ads!
Still haven't converted the show from the 2nd. I'm looking into a better way to convert my MDs. We shall see if Santa brings me goodies.
Haven't ordered Jammin' Java tickets yet but we'll be there. :-)

This is so cool, a Rockwell Church Fan live journal. You can view my live journal at www.livejournal.com/users/twostep04 , each post has a band that I am into, which is typically(if you like RWC) good music.
So it's funny, I actually just reserved my Rockwell Church concert tickets for Saturday the 23rd of November, so on the 24th I'll be able to tell you how the concert went.
Good to see other RWC fans out there, when I tell my close friends about this livejournal, they're bound to join, because I've hooked them all on RWC. My friend Jess will be sure to join, you can view her journal at: www.livejournal.com/users/boniter
Take it easy guys.
